The purpose of the Dietary Recommendations for Lasting Weight Loss educational activity is to provide health care professionals with introductory knowledge, skills, tools, and resources needed to work with overweight and obese patients on weight loss for the prevention of heart disease, stroke, some cancers and other chronic diseases.

The activity will provide continuing education opportunities that engage health care practitioners through text, audio, and interactive video. Education is also provided on how practical tools for dietary and weight management counseling can be incorporated into current practices given multiple barriers to screening, assessment, and intervention.
